Saturday Night Lights

Even if you don't have a night plane, this is still a great time, come out and join us!  At sunset!

An evening and night time gathering of hearty fliers, this event promises to be as fun as can be had at our flying field.  Bring your night-ready aircraft and join us for an informal gathering of night-flying and howling at the moon.  In the past, these events have been extremely fun and social.  We invite fliers and their light-laden models, their families and friends, and the curious who just wants to know "what IS that in the sky?"  See you at the field!

First Flight of the Year!
Jan

First Flight of the Year!

Every year, Tehachapi Crosswinds RC Club members gather at the field to make their lucky first flight of the year.  Eat your black eyed peas, save one, then come out for at least one flight (hopefully more), all for good luck!  Once airborne, all you have to do is a loop and a roll.  This is a rain, shine, or wind event.  If it's too windy, get brave and embrace it.... just fly!

A group photo will be taken and you'll go down in history as one of the brave.  If you don't fly but are there, stand back, let the pilots through, there are photos to be taken.

We'll see you loop and roll!

These brave souls can call themselves pilots.  Yes, they performed the loop and roll on the first day of the year, even in the cold and wind.  Stand back, everyone, these are heros, true & hardened.

TSP Celebration of Flight Planning Meeting

  • Tehachapi Crosswinds Flying Field (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Arrangements are being made for our club to have a static display booth at the Tehachapi airport for their Fly In on September 9th!  We are looking for volunteers to help run the booth, talk to people, and show airplanes.

There will be an informal gathering at the field this Saturday, September 2nd, at 10:00 AM to talk about details.  We'll be arranging times, volunteer shifts that work best for people to take turns, booth set up, etc.  If you'd like to be involved, feel free to join the conversation then to figure out how you can help out!  If you want to volunteer and can't make it to the field this Saturday, that's okay, and we would still love your help.  If that's the case, please just send me an email to let me know you're available.

Just a note: the discussion on Saturday is not a club meeting.  There will be no official minutes or anything, and it's purely for the purpose of talking about the Fly In.

See you there!

Calling all Club Members!

Join us for an evening fun fly!  This will be an informal, but fun event where we will enjoy lots of flying, food, friends, and fun.  Bring something to eat for yourself, share if you want.  But, most importantly, bring as many aircraft as you can!  We want to fill every airplane stand and pilot box.  There's plenty of sky for everyone.

Stick around after hours for some night flying too!

Plenty of parking, bathroom available, and lots of welcoming flying friends.  Bring chairs and shade if you like.  Grills might be available, contact info@tehachapicrosswinds for more information.
